'The Shadow' newspaper

Publisher/Editor/Founder of The Shadow, Chris Flash, will lead a talk about the early history of the underground Anarchist newspaper. Flash will be joined by investigative journalists (& long time Shadow contributers) Paul DeRienzo and Frank Morales to present a talk about the early history of The Shadow, which came about in response to the mainstream media’s misreporting of political activism in the Lower East Side. This event will also be the last presentation & event before the “Taking it to the Streets! : The Art + Design of Posters and Flyers on the Lower East Side in the 80s + 90s” show comes down!

“Taking it to the Streets! : The Art + Design of Posters and Flyers on the Lower East Side in the 80s + 90s” is a joint collaboration between ABC No Rio in Exile and The Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space. Exhibition supported in part by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, and the New York State Council on the Arts.
