Community Garden Volunteer Green-Ups
MoRUS stewards the Lower East Side’s community gardens by arranging work days to water plants, remediate soil, clear rubble, prepare earth for gardening, plant fruits/vegetables/herbs, building and improving infrastructure such as sinks/stages/gazebos, and composting food waste.
These gardens are 100% volunteer run, and you can help us maintain them at monthly garden Green-Ups.
Schedule:
1) GREEN OASIS COMMUNITY GARDEN
8th St between Ave C & D | 1st Sunday of each month @ 12pm
2) LA PLAZA CULTURAL COMMUNITY GARDEN
SW corner 9th St & Ave C | 2nd Saturday of each month @ 12pm
3) CARMEN’S GARDEN
117 Avenue C, between 7th & 8th St | 3rd Saturday of each month @ 3pm
