The Museum’s Open House

The Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space will hold its first open house on Saturday, October 6 and Sunday, October 7 as part of Open House New York (OHNY) Weekend, a citywide event organized by the nonprofit organization openhousenewyork. openhousenewyork‘s Weekend event showcases New York City’s most interesting displays of architecture, engineering and design in two great days of interesting site tours and talks. This year, MoRUS is lucky enough to be a part of this great event!

We will offer our first tours of the museum, which has never before been open to the public. Additionally, guests will have the opportunity to join MoRUS on two community tours:

The mixed tour will take guests around the East Village to see a selection of the neighborhood’s community gardens, as well as local squats and sites of past activism significant to the community’s unique history. We will also offer an extensive garden tour of the East Village’s many vibrant and diverse community gardens.

Join us for a day (or two!) of community garden and squat tours and a first look at the museum before its grand opening. You can reserve tickets and view tour details here. We hope to see you this upcoming weekend!
